Good to see a bike up north that actually got used.  75,000 miles is a feat for many bikes.  Many fall into neglect long before they reach those miles.

I admired the heck out of those bikes. The 1200 was a bit tall for me. The 900s though, perfect. Love to find one someday.

Those are really fine motorcycles.
Expect to service the clutch, stator, and, as any older bike, carbs and brake lines.  HAMLIN has a lot of knowledge on that model as well as most every Triumph mede.

 I thought my 900 Sprint Ex  was a great bike, but I hated working on it,everything was a project. But the early Bloor Triumph's are a lot of bike for the money these days kind of like Buell. Way over built lot's of people did 200K on them.

I imagine these were slightly overweight, but I liked the looks of the late 1990s Triumph Thunderbird.  Anyone here have any 'flying time' with one of these?

   The Triumphs of that vintage had two serious and expensive problems. One was DAR. Dreaded alternator rattle. The other was failed sprag clutch. Another name for the sprag clutch is an over-running bearing. That's what the starter engages to turn the engine over. When the engine lites up the sprag free wheels. Those issues were fixed in the early 2000s

The thunderbirds are nice enough, although a bit detuned compared to the rest of the 885cc triples.
( I hear you can wake them up with some intake rubber modifications and some jetting changes).
I'm surprised that you don't see more t-bird café racers.

 I'm on my second 1200 triumph.

I test rode a 1200 when they first came out at Mid Ohio Vintage. Coming out of Lexington towards the track is fair grade at least a 1/4 mile long. I had it in 5th going about 20 mph and it just motored right up. The bike is a torque monster.

A bike with 75k and one owner who was meticulous about maintenance is one thing. One with a half dozen owners is a different animal.  Craigslist is littered with 1200 and 1250 Bandits in the same price range and one third the mileage.  A friend picked up a 2003 with Givi bags and topcase for $1,600 last Fall.  It had new tires and 20k miles.  That was a very good buy.  I don't this this Triumph is a good buy.

Rode a 2000 1200Trophy for a couple years and about 20k miles. Traded my Cali1100I for it on a whim. Solid bike , could cruise at 120 mph comfortably but...top heavy pig , especially when the fuel tank was full and going through twisties. This is just my riding experience, but I suspect that many Guzzi riders would be running back to their Guzzis just like I did. Great looking bike IMHO, just better suited for high speed cruising and not all that great at all round riding

I rode a friends Trophy 1200, loved the bike. Good thing they have a huge fuel tank though, 35 mpg tops   4 carbs is not for me!  I wish they had just put the EFI 1050 triple in that frame instead of trying to best BMW's RT, Yammy's FJR, Kawi 's Connie, etc with their Trophy 1200 triple that has fallen on its face due to over-engineering.

I ride with 3 guys that have TBird Sports.  All are set up to run pretty good.  They're basically tarted up Gen 1 Speed Triples.  Pretty robust bikes so far as I can tell and look great in cafe trim.  Good power, handling I would guess.

 I always thought the T Bird Sport was really great looking. To bad they didn't stick with it with the newer triples.
