doesn't quite translate
« on: December 07, 2017, 02:37:38 PM »
This past summer I was ordering a few parts for a customer that was getting his 1200 Sport  ready for sale and buying a Griso.   He ordered a fork cap that was pretty expensive given it was basically an ornamental part.
When it arrived the name of the part was ASS TAPPO. That was written on the bag that held the part.  I could not stop laughing and said to him that I was unsure if the wording was meant to be a noun or a verb.  He did not have a very good sense of humor.

I plugged ass tappo translation into the google machine and  came to find ass tappo is synonymous with ass cap.  (ass hat)  hahaha

The other tings that appears is a half Italian sentence where they talk of shoving a grenade up someones nether regions and pulling the pin,  and a number of posts talking about busting a cap in someones ass.

The first parts manual I bought was for my 80 SP in 1981. I was reading through the thing and found it most interesting what the Italians called stuff. I also came across the same thing but I think it was in the body parts. Can't remember exactly what it was though, too long ago. I still read paper manuals for models up to 98.
I find the translation a bit funny.
