I live in a part of the state that catches fire regularly. That and some earthquakes.
Watched something on the news showing a young man braving a fire to rescue a bunny.
There's us, and there's them. If you ever see a small woodland creature heading for your front wheel at speed: gas it, don't brake. Save yourself.
Maybe the guy was saving himself .
??
Send us your snow, please. So far after decades of So Cal residence, the fire is always near me, but not where I am.So I am lucky - or, it's unlucky to live near me, not certain which. Hmmmm.... that reads as though I would make a good arson suspect. Okay, let me rephrase that - I live in a part of the state that catches fire regularly. That and some earthquakes.
Sitting here in Maine, watching the news for the past few days about the fires out there... I have Nothing to bitch about with a little snow coming in, nothing..! Please be careful out there folks. I just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you.Best,Rob
So far 800 houses are no longer existent. I'd call that pretty bad . Your Gov. Moonbeam today says it's the new norm. Is this the price of living in a sanctuary State?
The fires have been on our news too. Scary stuff. My thoughts go out to those affected.
Some politics are creeping into the replies here. Saying what's "that bad" or not reminds me of the difference between a recession and a depression: A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose YOUR job!" If my neighbors house burns down, man that's tough. If my house burns down...Hey, wait a minute!!! And how will anyone insure their homes if all the insurance companies quite writing policies in southern California just like they did along coastal Florida after the hurricanes?
I have heard of people with the means out there buying decommissioned fire trucks and keeping them full of water ready to go.
What RG said :1:We randomly see footage of whats going on in CA over here and it scares the heck out of me Stay safe
