From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉 Hawaii.

I stored mine in a large galvanized can many years ago and placed the can out at the street for storage.
Wouldn't you know it, somebody stole every thing in the can, the very next day.

If you just leave them alone, you're all ready for next year!! Simply pull up a lawn chair and an adult beverage and laugh at all the other guys struggling next November...

Around mid-July, the wifey asks if I'll take down the tree. (artificial)  "Uh...no.  It's almost Christmas."  We use to fight over who would set fire to the tree. (Douglas Fir)  We had an empty lot next to our house.  "Daddy, can I set to the tree this year?"       We had a healthy respect for the danger of Christmas tree fires.
