Wonder who will take Walter Becker's place on guitar during the tour. Becker played a pretty distinctive guitar and I can't find any published information on the band's lineup. The Doobies will be:Patrick Simmons Guitars/VocalsTom Johnston Guitars/VocalsJohn McFee Guitars, Pedal Steel, Dobro, Fiddle, VocalsBill Payne - KeyboardsMarc Russo SaxophoneEd Toth DrumsJohn Cowan Bass/VocalsSince I was never a Michael McDonald fan, his absence doesn't hurt my feelings. I do like the addition of Bill Payne from Little Feat!
Jeff Baxter
I hear Cracker Barrel and Ensure are major sponsors.
No idea if it would happen, but if I were lining it up I'd say get Jeff Baxter back on stage - with both bands. He has the skill, and when he left each band it was on better terms than is usually the case.
What can I say.. he can do it.
ol' boy can still pick a tune or two. Playing with two bands though. That would shirley take a tollhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRXfBiQJpPQ
Did anyone know that Skunk is space and missile expert and a consultant to NASA and DOD?Things he's learned from music and recording have given him special insight.
Steely Dan was and is such a brilliant collaboration of so many galactically-talented musicians and studio geniuses that although Walter will be missed, one just needs to turn the kalideoscope a little and an entire new masterpiece of sound appears...highly recommended ticket if you love good music!
Seriously? I think I feel a leg getting longer.. for sure when he wrote in Guitar player magazine back in the day he was out in space..
Actually, he is a highly regarded consultant on missile defense issues. Better check your inseam...
