Need a job in motorcycle industry? <GC>
« on: January 27, 2018, 06:09:15 PM »
From another forum:

"I know this place isn't NW specific but I'm looking for the right individuals and maybe someone knows someone or is interested in relocating. Our shop here is expanding and in need of staff. Positions available are:

Moto International - Aprilia and Moto Guzzi in Seattle, WA

Service Manager/Technician - Experience and MMI training or equivalent preferred
Parts Manager - Experience with OEM and accessories preferred
Sales Manager - Sales experience preferred

An ideal candidate would be able to fill multiple roles. Moto International is a small mom and pop feel type of dealership. We are close to the Guzzi and Aprilia community here and enjoy the comradery.

Optimum Performance Motorsports - Independent repair/service and used sales in Kirkland, WA

Service Technician - Experience and MMI training or equivalent preferred

An ideal candidate would also be a track enthusiast or racer. OPM will be supporting over 30 track events in the NW with tires and service.

There is also possibility of a technician working at both Moto I and OPM.

Please feel free to message for clarification or questions. "

Anyone here interested?

Why would MI need a service manager with Micha and Jason already working there?

Everyone is gone from MI.  It's been a complete turnover from Dave R. on down.  I met Dave before he had the shop.  It's the end of an era; Guzzidom in the PacNW will never be the same.

:1:  on the change of staff.  It started happening with Greg.  Not uncommon in American businesses.  Short term relationships are the norm not the rule.

Wow ....... that implosion happened pretty quick.
So for those that really know.......... whose pulling wrenches and making the new shop Guzzi worthy? Or do the new skippers have other plans?

No clues as to their future.  AFAIK Dave was the last one out.  It was time.

There have been a lot of changes since Bob Nolan died.  The MI thing is one.  The old crew trickled out.  The interim staff seems to be gone too as the OP says.  Then the WA and OR MGNOC reps retired (retirement party last night -- I missed it) and have been replaced by a regional committee.  Deep Forest won't happen this year and if it goes next year it will be a different atmosphere and format.  It looks as though they lost control of actual campsite, so the venue will change as well.  How, I don't know.  Other traditional gatherings may or may not happen.

Fossil will be happening.  Maybe others can confirm or deny some of the rest.

I'm from the other side of the country and I feel the loss even out here.

Hey, for anyone in the Seattle area, do you know where Micha ended up?  I'm assuming he didn't retire.

Glad I had a chance to see Dave a couple weeks before he headed out.  Wish him the very best; he's been great for the brand and we were darn lucky to have him here for so long.

I've been over to MI since the changeover and it seemed to be going OK.  The advert above actually surprised me but *shrug* I'm usually the last to know anything.

Oh, good for him!  (though a loss to the MG community).  I imagine that's much steadier and pays better.  Thanks for the info.
