I looked through the catalog and saw a lot of pretty stuff, but not much that I'd actually want to own (realistically) as I don't have the mechanical expertise to keep a pre-1920 machine running, or to make replacement parts.

I did like the H-D 1945 WL simply because of the military trim.  One could have fun with that.  There were a couple of Honda's - the CX650 Turbo and the '81 CBX in touring gear (fairing and luggage). The BMW 51/3 also caught my eye.  I didn't see the DKW in the catalog - interesting bike.

I noticed they call Lot T326 a Harley-Davidson FL, but it looks suspiciously like a Honda GL1000/1100/1200.

Looking at the results, I'm surprised at the prices bid on some of the cars that didn't sell.  Silly pricing. I can't imagine what the reserve was on those.

Some nice red Italian hardware there ... !   Love to have one of the V700s ....

But the only "porn" there in your photos involved perversions like flames and apehangers ....

Yes, there were a few of these HD MT500 bikes there also.

I was amazed at how many vintage Kawasaki Z1's, Honda CBX's, Suzuki GT-750's there were...at least a half a dozen each!!

I heard MECUM's employs a LOT of people working the phones constantly and calling people from craigslist ads and others all year, and throughout the country!!  The number of bikes to see is overwhelming!!

That's nice....     Red Rock HD is a HUGE dealership.  If I bought another Harley (I have owned four Big Twins in my time), it would be a retro-looking, low Softail Slim, in black, just like I am sitting on. :thumb:

I have said this before, the motorcycles themselves are fine...it's the whole silly HD life-style scene that I have no interest in...

Hokey Smokes!  A Benelli 750 6?!  I'd never seen such an animal.  I knew they existed, but I've never run across one in the wild.

I'll have to see if it sold and for how much.

Nice stuff JJ.

Thanks,

Really cool JJ, thanks.  It's funny when I look at the MGS 01 it still makes me as crazy as when they first came out.  Lovely things.

Did it sell?

No...an example was at the Red Rock HD dealership...on display...not at the auction.
