Thank you Patrick Hayes
« on: February 01, 2018, 10:47:35 AM »
There are a large number of people in the guzzi community that enhance the pleasure and reduce the stress of owning an older guzzi. I sent Patrick Hayes the rear transmission cover for my ambo to sleeve the clutch push rod body tunnel and cut an o ring groove in the shift arm tunnel . These are some of the services he offers to us. I just got mine back and want to thank you publically Patrick. THANK YOU. And THANK You to all of you on this forum who make efforts to roll back the cynicism that does build in this much too commercial world .
Not to naive or mushy I hope.

I've had several done by him so far and it's top notch craftsmanship every time. Helps make the old 4 spd. much less likely to leak.

Is he on this forum? I'd like to see if he could bush a brake plate for me. Looks like fine work to me.

When I lived in NORCAL (2006-2011), I rode this 1993 SP1000-III, and he helped me with several minor issues with this bike, and his expertise and assistance was much appreciated.   :1: :thumb:

He is a tried and true Guzzisti! - - and a good guy all around! :thumb:

Yes, as pehayes.

What is this we are looking at Charlie?

That is a 4 spd. "selector cover" that has had an o-ring groove machined into the bore. Unlike 5 spds., there isn't an o-ring in that location from the factory and it can leak from there as a result. Patrick machines the groove to use the 5 spd. o-ring.
