Cool video, Shorty! I used to have an Elsinore 250. The Elsinore was considered a "game changer" in its time.  Just like the Suzuki TM with its "laid down" rear suspension. When I hear the phrase " Its more fun to ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow" my old TM 125 comes to mind....talk about a  narrow"peaky"powerband, and always having to keep it on the pipe, while shifting like crazy, but sooo much fun!  As shown in the video,everything had such a laid back tone in the 70s. I miss that aspect of life these days.

Its interesting, and a little funny, how people would "gear up" to  dirt ride in the 70s. compared to how most dirt riders gear up now...Im surprised we all survived those times fairly unscathed, and probably even ran with scissors, when Mom wasnt looking!

They learned fast that if they  had to come off the throttle in the middle of the hill for a rockn or root they couldn’t come back near as easy as the four strokes.

My sons learned to ride on an Elsinore 250.   It was sort of a 30-year-old beater when we bought it, so no problem if they damaged it a little learning to ride.

Ran great for 2 years till it blew a crank seal, so sold it to a young Elsinore enthusiast (they had quite a web presence a few years back, haven't checked since then) ....

Good basic solid motorcycle ....

I used to ride my old yamaha enduro 175 with a friend who had a 125 Elsinore. He would eat me up on open ground but couldn’t keep up on the trails. I couldn’t figure out why until I rode it. The throttle was like on off/on switch on that thing. Wide open or nothing.

Whoa, brought back memories! My first new dirt bike was a '74 CR125, and I continued racing the amateur circuit in Michigan, a hotbed of motocross back in those days. A lot of European-style tracks.

Watching McQueen ride in the desert is awesome! I knew he could ride, but didn't know he was that good. I, too miss the early days when a bike was affordable and there were places to ride.

Lost almost an hour after the McQueen video watching old motocross videos. Well worth it!
