Is it supposed to have that big crease in the tank?
« on: March 02, 2018, 12:32:40 PM »

Nice-lookin', besides the crease (unless it's supposed to be there).

Good deal otherwise?

That was an option that year. Most riders passed on it.😂

Warning:  You should not be posting threads with links which require the reader to click in order to know what the heck you're talking about.  Repeated abuse of this request from the mods/admins may result in threads deleted, and/or time off from the forum.

Now, about that crease.  You could've done a quick search on Google to know that there is nothing unusual about this motorcycle's fuel tank.  And, you could've posted the pic in your original post.  But, if you'd taken 30-seconds to look at Google Images, you wouldn't have needed to post this thread.

and yes that looks like a pretty fair deal. It has been converted to handlebars and looks like upgraded exhaust etc..
he doesn't give the mileage, and "very fast" is in the eye of the beholder only.

Good Deal Indeed. Common upgrades and looks unmolested. Couple of recalls for that year ,  DO IT!

Seriously? This is my first warning, and a pretty harsh one at that. I cannot post pics from my work computer, but your point is taken.

Say no more. I GET it.

Wow, point taken. I am unable to post pics from my work computer, so in the future I'll abandon the effort. I can see your point, tho.

Isnt that being a bit harsh?  I know it may be none of my business, but it makes one not want to post on here at all!  Geezzzzz??????

I think rocker's comment is directed more to the group than the individual.  Yes, it's just one clickbait, and maybe the first for this member.  But it comes close on the previous warnings, which in turn were due to a few members flooding the forum with the stuff, which had in turn been previously warned about.  After so many rinse and repeat cycles, the patience for it wanes.  It's so simple to NOT generate clickbait, and after defining it, explaining why it is unacceptable, and repeatedly warning about it, I personally don't think it's an overreaction to call it out when it happens.

OK , obviously I'm not Rocker ,(Marcia is happy about that fact ) , but the warning was in fact directed at the group , and Mike was at work with limited time .

What we are asking for is a bit more info from the poster so folks can decide whether they wish to click on it .

IE . Is this crease OEM for this Greenie ? Hope that helps a bit .Carry on .

To get a bit more 'back on topic' my question to current and past owners: does the Green color get on your nerves after awhile or does it grow on you? Do you long for a respray or does it make you love it even more?

I've always liked the Tenni Green and don't understand why MG hasn't used it more.

No, that green is stunning in real life, I had one just like it, I don't like those silver cans though, the Carbon Fiber look and sound better.
The price is reasonable, definitely worth a look.
But what's with the picture, he couldn't run the other bike out of the way and get a decent snap?

I am always amazed how pi*& poor pictures people can post in ads. Some I am sure is intentional to minimize flaws. The rest just don't seem to have a clue or willing to go to the trouble to take and post decent pictures. Now a day even low end point and shoot cameras or your phone is capable of very good pictures with a bit of thought and effort.

I don't get how that link was click bait. The link includes the words "boston.craigslist.o rg and moto-guzzi" in it. I clicked on it and was presented with a Guzzi.
All good, no?

If I clicked on it and got a questionnaire about hair products or a survey I can see being pissed off.
I'm not trying to be difficult, I just don't quite get click bait. I assumed it is that crap on the msn homepage that asks you to click on an actress to see what they look like now and end up with a bunch of other BS.

I'm in the same boat as Turin, I have on several occasions put into the text of my response a url link without a picture to show the product or supplier.  Then later that same day I see a response from a moderator doing exactly the same thing. I believe most of us on the forum are responsible  enough to not inflict malware  or other such nasties upon our fellow Guzzi Brethren but what is the protocol for  us to not get berated for doing what the moderators do?

Yes.  My reply was intended for all readers.  Click bait sucks.

All good, no?

I'm in the same boat as Turin,

It's easy.  The subject line: "Is it supposed to have that big crease in the tank? ".  The post "Nice-lookin', besides the crease (unless it's supposed to be there)." required the reader to click the link to know what the Hell the OP was talking about.  If he had used some simple html code to imbed the photo in the post, we'd have known what he was wondering without leaving the forum.

It's really not that hard, and only took me a moment to do that in my reply to him.  This  original post is a perfect example of what we've been talking about recently, and that's why I made a point to reply instead of simply deleting it.

Mike
