Thread drift.  I used to bounce of the rev limiter on my Bassa quite often.  Yet I seldom do riding my Breva 1100.  I was thinking at first it was because the Breva is somewhat quicker than the Bassa, but then I recalled I was often riding with Sergio DeSouza while on the Bassa, and he moved to Brazil just before I got the Breva!  Anyone who rode with Sergio, may recall what I'm talking about!

The Rev Limit is set in the ECU firmware and in the case of the V7II, the Rev Cutoff = 7200rpm and the Return Fuelling is 7150rpm.
This information is available using GuzziDiag and TunerPro software to read the ECU firmware settings.

I wonder why they dropped the limit? While it might be pointless from a ‘Power’ perspective to rev them higher with the intrinsically better breathing of a hemi head design over the herron head on the previous offerings a lower rev limit seems a trifle odd. Perhaps they are using a particularly soft cam for bottom end? Perhaps they’ve just cheaper out on connecting rods?

Once I am past the horsepower peak I always upshift.  At that time you are making less power and torque and I see no reason to push matters.

V-Strom is cleaned up and listed for sale.  Hoping for a quick turnaround.
