Orchid
« on: May 14, 2018, 02:03:41 PM »
Bev, my wife, has the greenest of thumbs.  This orchid was her Mother's Day gift from our youngest son last year.  In a year's time it's had three blooming cycles.  This one is outstanding.

We looked at a few this weekend.

Didn't see anything quite as nice as yours though.

No cigars in the house.  Only on the patio, usually with a scotch in hand and music on, taking photos of the birds (some of which I have posted).

:1: Well done!  Phals are easy to grow and rebloom when you have the touch.

My husband and I at one time had over 300 orchids before we moved to Arizona.  Orchids hate AZ so to get our fix we visit the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show and Sale most years and reconnect with old orchid pals.

A pic from this year's show.

Phalaenopsis Orchid

Yup.  Also known as a 'mule ear' (leaf shape) or 'moth' (flower shape) orchid.
