Is Stans Moto Guzzi out of business
« on: June 12, 2018, 02:31:04 PM »
I’m on the 4 corners of the US tour and had arranged with Stan’s Guzzi a month ago for a service but when I call I just get a recording and their information on google says they are permanently closed. Can anyone who lives in the area advise.

Guzzi website no longer lists them.  The nearest dealers are:

Moto Guzzi Daytona in Daytona Beach.
Moto Guzzi Jacksonville in Jacksonville
Moto Guzzi Tampa Bay in Odessa.
Moto Guzzi Sanford in Sanford.

Regarding cycles of Jax service is good not had any bad experiences however they don't have much in the way of guzzis on the floor a few weeks ag io all they had was a v7iii carbon a stornello and used v7ii they are a Honda and Triumph  dealer no one seems to be guzzi enthusiasts, but it's good to have a dealer nearby so I support them

I visited Stan at his shop in the spring of 2017. He was selling off a bunch of stuff. Even though he is not a official dealer, its not like he has forgotten how to work on a Guzzi. At his age and state of health, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't just go into the shop whenever he feels like it.

I was able to talk to Stan yesterday evening.    He is not open much lately and a one man shop.  He was not able to service my 1400 so I made an appointment at Euro cycles in Tampa.

Stan was one of my earlier Moto Guzzi rally memories. The NC rally was washed out in 93 or 94 I think as the bridge was taken out at Blue Ridge Campground by a flood just days before the rally. We all ended up at KOA on I-40 just west of Canton. I had the fortune/misfortune of tenting next to Stan. The fortune was I got to meet and know him. He sold me a Bosch headlight unit that just fit into my Mille out of a BMW that lite up the road at night like big old fog lights. The misfortune was Stan snored so loud I could hear him over the interstate noise. I had to sleep with my ear plugs in. Stan was full of himself a great guy. Glad to know he is still stomping this earth.

I was hoping to get to meet Stan.  From what I have read he knows how to build a fast Guzzi.  Unfortunately he said his wife has had several surgeries in the last month or so so he hasn’t been in the shop much.

Let us know how that works out for ya. I've had mixed results from that place over the past 12 years.
