California II Question/Help

I need a seat for my California II, I’ve been told that only a long seat will work and I’ve been told that a short seat will work if I change the luggage rack. If a short seat will work, what luggage rack do I need? Any seat advice or options would be appreciated.

I have an 86 w/long seat, if you want a short seat you need the 83 or 84 luggage rack. It's all in the parts book.

I want a long seat but can’t find one. Do you happen to have the part number for the short seat luggage rack?

The long seat was made by cutting the short seat pan into two parts and then welding in an insert.  The problem is that Mandello didn't always clean and protect the welds, so many long seat pans have rusted away.
