SoCal and a couple of week days off on the Norge
« on: June 27, 2018, 05:55:43 PM »
Still working on my project at the Coronado Navy base but waiting on a couple parts so I had off yesterday and today.
I left San Diego at 4am yesterday and slabbed it up I15 to Route 138 north of San Bernadino before any serious traffic. Rode RT 2 east which is always nice. Then slabbed it to the PCH in Santa Monica and then up the coast, up and down the canyon roads, a few repeats for Topanga Cyn, Old Topanga Cyn, Dexter, Latigo Cyn. Yerba Buena, Potrero Rd, Stunt, Mulholland, etc. Then I had to check out Bluewater Rd in Malibu to see Bob Dylan's house/properties. Spent the night in Thousand Oaks. Slabbed it again at 4am to RT138 in Palmdale and went east to Crestline, Rim Forest, RT18 at this time, Sky Forest, RT 38 at Big Bear Lake and then 38 down and back to Yucaipa. I got a little mixed up in Crestview like where a lot of houses were and man, a couple of the turns to switch roads were really tight and odd slopes where I thought I was going to dump the Norge on myself! Some of the scenery was amazing and a couple of brief vertigo rushes!
Then slabbed it to Banning and that was 243, 74, 79, Japutal Valley road and a couple others to 94 and then west back to San Diego.
A little beat up but had a blast.

Wish I was there..   Dexter? I've missed that, I think. I'll look for it. There *are* some great and sometimes challenging roads out there.  :thumb: Thanks for the report..

Decker!, 23. I am a bit out of it! Yesterday was 12 hours in the saddle and today, another 10.
I know you covered many of those roads!

Decker canyon road.  From the beach up and over the mountain and back down to Thousand Oaks in a few miles. Switchbacks and elevation changes galore. Yeah, baby!   :thumb:

JB, dam I miss that bike!  Just think of the stories that bike could tell if it could talk.  From Pensacola to Clearwater, Florida. To Nova Scotia Canada and back, to Northern Illinois, to Texas to California.  So glad to see it carrying you safely on your travels.  Thanks for posting the pictures.  Safe travels.
