Down in the backside of the planet it has staggered up to 46F, up from 28.

However, the days are beginning to get longer, roll on summer.

Our evening news seems to be starting off with the terrible fires in Greece, supplemented of course with the numerous ones decimating California and some of your parks. Don't envy you guys at all.

Can only speak for my area, northeast USA. It's been dry and hot, especially the last few years. Spruce trees, common to this area are like skeletons. Doesn't take much to get them burning. Add to that the winds we have been having have laid many trees down.
But more than likely, some person is responsible for starting the fires, that's usually the case.
Enjoy your upcoming summer riding season!

I intend to thanks Yogi. Bike gets put back on the road on September 27th. Have to track down a whine in the gearbox first.

The mean temperature in Omaha, Nebraska for the entire month of December 1983 was 6 degrees.  Not the high, not the low, the mean!

I told God if he moved me someplace warm I would never bitch about it.  I've been out of the cold for for 32 years and have kept my pledge.  I make observations and comments about the heat, but never bitch.

Summer riding simply means being on the road at dawn and home by 2.

When I was in the Army, I worked traffic control for the West Point football games and the Christmas Eve midnight service at the Cadet Chapel two consecutive years. The temperatures there along the Hudson were cruel in the winter. Whenever I feel I might complain about the summer heat here in Louisiana, I remember those moments dodging automobiles sliding in the snow and ice, my feet frozen in my jump boots, my hands protected only by white gloves, and my ears numb under my helmet liner. Since then, I've not minded the heat at all...

That must have been a record year! Or was that Celsius?
