Mission Impossible, FALLOUT
« on: July 28, 2018, 10:26:39 PM »
The wife and I saw the movie today.  Very good, maybe not the best one, but its near the top.

we both felt the plot was weak, and not enough development of the script.   the action was non stop and it did relive a few similar action scenes from previous movies, but it was good.

Had a few WTH course corrections that neither of us saw coming, good thing.

Cruise is definitely showing his age, and it was clear during the bike chase seen that he didn't seem comfortable riding a motorcycle around corners, but maybe its just me.

For me it is a movie that moves the franchise forward and makes me want another movie, rare in a series.

As well versed as you are on pop culture, I can't believe you aren't familiar with the MI movie series.   :boxing:
The best part of riding a motorcycle is to tilt the horizon and to lift the front coming out of a corner and to drift the back end powering thru loose dirt and to catch a little air topping a hill and... yeah it's all good!

I also haven't been to a theater in over 18 years. My local library, in addition to many good books, has many videos, updated as soon as new movies are released on video.
Often I'll watch just 5 minutes and shut them off if they are not interesting, or too much senseless violence, child abuse, or anything I won't want to watch.
I was never impressed with Tom Cruise, so I wouldn't bother borrowing his movies.

My wife and I saw it yesterday, Sunday, too. Entertaining for sure.

Why do all the bike chase bikes sound like Japanese fours?  :bike-037:

Cruise is definitely showing his age,

He broke his ankle in the jump to the other building.

Enjoyable movie but sappy and the plot makes absolutely no sense.

Given the identities of good guys and bad guys that whole movie shouldn't have happened in the first place.  So whatever........... .

What I liked about the TV show was that the schemes were complicated but carried out with total precision whereupon only the bad guy gets conned.  OTOH, the movies have twists and turns, this one to the point of making no sense.  But it was still enjoyable.
