Check out that enclosed chain! I wonder how often people used to actually crack them open and lube them?

Only have to pop a rubber plug to lube chain. Very easy. Would love to add that to my collection.

It's a split-single, with two.pistons sharing a common combustion chamber. Interesting design for sure. Sears sold a lot of them.

A "twingle".  Sears did indeed sell a ton of them in the 60's.  Sears Allstate/Puch.  My father had one and still raves about it 50 years later.

My friend Joseph has several of them, mostly the older ones with more rounded styling.

At one point in my life, I was without a motorcycle that ran and he loaned me a Sears Allstate/Puch 175 "twingle" to ride around on. I rode it some with my (then) wife on the back and as long as I stuck to backroads, it did okay. I rode it down to The Flying Circus in Bealeton, VA and back once along with Joseph on his 250. I gave it back after the (now ex) wife had left, I got the Morini K2 running again and I had bought my '69 Ambassador. I polished all of the alloy bits on it and gave it a good detailing as a way of saying thanks. 

Some of you might remember Joseph riding a 250 to the VA Guzzi Rally in Buena Vista a bunch of years ago. Always an adventure with him - he left late, ran out of gas on the BRP and finally made it to BV around 11 pm.
