In the latest issue of Motorcycle Sport & Leisure a couple of quotes.....

"We are developing new bikes that will retail for around £5700" - Luca Balduino - Guzzi Project Chief.

That is 5400 British Pounds (not USD) = approx USD$7800

V7 II Stone is listed on the Guzzi Great Britain website at 7,135 British Pounds.

So yes, if they're looking at producing and selling a bike at 5,400 British Pounds, it will be placed in the lineup BELOW the current V7 line of bikes.

Ah, well that clears that part up for me.  So their bikes are a couple thousand more than in the US.  Well in that case I'd LOVE to have a Guzzi on our floor that's a true beginner size bike (ideally that would be a fun bike for experienced riders as well).

The price in the UK includes the 20% sale tax

Add 20% to 5400 and it's what?  6480?

Still an inexpensive machine that was mentioned.

An most likely a different machine than the 900-1000cc machine that's also been rumored.

Well, this is one way to have people look to the current 750cc as something more.

Could this be what they're referring to? Never thought much of the Nevada myself. Certainly a lot better things to do with the small block drive train as far as I'm concerned.

Rumors and quotes having even less validity than the periodical publication pestilence of "artist's concept" magazine drawings...

I'll continue to respirate regularly and save my breath holding for the really significant things like:

"Let's see if it fits through there..."
"This is gonna hurt"
or
"Did anyone see me?"

The Nevada was a flop in the US, tho it has remained in production worldwide..  I don't think it has many fans

Something that cheap means small engine and much less metal than the current lineup. Historically, Guzzi doesn't skimp on components like brakes so I can't see them making something heavy and cheap.

I sure hope that they make a smaller bike with a new engine in the 50cc range. The transverse v-twin has been done to death and guzzi needs to show that they can innovate at this point.

Are you hoping for another Robin?

That horizontal engine could best be modular, w/ the ability to build a twin; with a really low center of gravity.
You could have small and twice the size. A belt drive keeps things quiet, light, clean, reliable and robs very little power. A CVT for those sissies that need it. No one needs the liability of an 'outdoor' bacon slicer.  R3~
