Ok, 2019 ride..
« on: December 09, 2018, 03:52:21 AM »
Gunna' be London-Calais then East via Netherlands then to top of the Adriatic and down to Greece.
Around the top again and down to Sicily, Mt Etna then Amalfi Coast but can throw Nordkapp in first if anyone keen..
There'll be a look in around Berlin at the Brandenburg gates on the way past and a croissant at the Eiffel Tower (again)..
But all that can change if necessary.
Let's know if you're keen.
Huzo.

Hey Huzo
Our plan is to stick to our plan which is attached.
Maybe we can cross paths and have a coffee somewhere.

I'll be posting on here as I progress, so we should be able to catch up somewhere.
Managed to do it with Piecemealadventurer (Mick) in 2017, so anything's possible..

Hmmm..
Looks like a distinct possibility, as long as you're not on water.

I'm thinking that from Sofia in Bulgaria (been there on the Norge) to Istanbul is 500 k, one full tank on a good day. So from there hug the Coast as much as practicable and follow the coastal roads around from Turkey through Greece up through Albania/Croatia then around and down the Italian coast and on clockwise to France/Spain and France again.
Rough measurements indicate about 12,000 k..
Should do the whole she bang on one oil change..!

Geneva will be the closest.
Last time we did this we were pretty close,  but not this time.

Well worth it.
Parked the Norge at the base of Le Tower and it looked very small from the top..!

Looks like a great trip. I really hope my next duty assignment is Europe.... Make sure you have a quick on-off yellow vest when near Paris 🤣

I've just been in contact with a mate from the Netherlands.
He's doing a rally in Albania from June 5 to 18 so I'll probably engineer a hook up through there. I had him out here in Oz a bit over a year back and stay with him each year in Tilburg.
Things are starting to coalesce into a bit of a picture.
Also there's a bloke I bumped into @Honningsvag (Nordkapp) last year and I was able to do a favour for two of his friends that were also there, he thanked me confidentially and insisted that if near his "villa" outside Perpignan near the French/Spanish border, I should go there and even if he was not around, his "STAFF..!" Would make sure I was made comfortable.
Mark that one in...!

God willing...in 2019, I will make these three Guzzi runs once again:

* Cottonwood, AZ Guzzi N.A.R. the first weekend in May... :thumb:
* New Mexico State Guzzi Rally in mid-August...
* Lake Henshaw, CA Guzzi N.A.R. mid-October...

Would like to branch out and attend another Guzzi event somewhere else in the country, but it's always about time / money, eh?

I'll be going through Germany to see the Brandenburg gates in Berlin. Do you feel inclined to PM me your address ?
It would be around the 12 th of May on the way to Turkey.
What I often do in such cases, is to arrange to meet a day or so before at a pre determined location/time and do some riding...?
