No politics fellas , OK ? It's alright to honor someone for what they did , but none of us are perfect .

That's a fact, Dusty.. no politics has served WG well. There are plenty of places to talk about it other than WG.
Of course, everyone is wrong but me..so I'll bite my tongue.

Sully will love the next family (already) that feeds and plays with him.  He’ll be fine.

Dogs have many things to teach us.. the main ones being unconditional love, and living in the present.

Sully will live out the good life @ Walter Reed from what I've read. He'll be better kept than some vets.

A service dog for all of the vets then ? That seems fitting .

Bush was at the top of my chain of command. I joined the Army when I heard Saddam rolled into Kuwait. They said they needed electricians and although I tested high enough for some really interesting jobs, I went in as a 52D as we felt that was my best shot at getting to the big sand box. Four days before I was heading to Saudi they put us in formation. Four names were called. I had the fourth highest GPA so I was called last. We were then put in Patriot Missile systems for more schooling. Stormin' Norman threw his Hail Mary pass and it was over before I got out of AIT.

RIP Mr. Bush. You had integrity.

You don't understand the difference between history and politics?  I recounted the history of Bush I just like everyone else did.  I chose to include FACTS that are unflattering, but unflattering facts aren't "politics" any more than they are fake news.

When we're allowed to only repeat YOUR choice of the facts we don't have a discussion forum.  We have religion, with the forum your church and you the pope.  I'm not much for religion.

Rodekyll,

No one is holding you hostage here.  If you don't like the moderating, please feel free to frequent some other forum that will have you.

This is a solemn day for Our Nation.  A war hero who dedicated a large part of his life to serving Our Country has passed.  This is no time for political jabs.  We will have a similar day soon for our 39th President, and it too will be a solemn day for Our Country.

I'm really itching to use the ban hammer.  If you don't have anything nice to say, then please walk on by without saying a word...

. My respect for anyone that could live in Midland/Odesa, Texas in the summer without a/c. You wpould have to experience it to believe it..

The train run from Spring Texas to College Station was an awesomething to watch.  People lining the right of way almost the whole distance.

Very nice ceremony to watch yesterday.

And the flyover was cool:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pdVhOkzC0s

I heard someone report after the funeral on Wednesday that they talked to some politician who observed that after hearing all of this about HW that he wanted to do a better job during the rest of his life and that he would.  That George HW was really an inspiration to many.  I felt that was a very good thought to keep with us as we go forward here.  RIP George HW Bush.
