02 cali stone tool kit.
« on: January 04, 2019, 06:59:31 AM »
I got my new to me Cali stone, and it came with no tool kit, nor tray. Looking at the parts lookup sites show a tray that attaches above the battery. Anyone ever make anything to replace it, or should I just dig up a new one? Also as for the kit itself.  What came with it? Im making up a list of what I should have with me going by what ive needed for the work ive done to the bike so far, but being a new guzzi owner Im not really sure yet what I might need.

Putting a tray in is a good idea. I find the seat a bitch to fit if the tray isn't in.
Also, it stops water getting at the battery. Weird I know, but I've pulled mine out to find water in it after washing. And I'm not talking about spraying madly with a hose

My Stone also came without a tool tray. I ordered a new one from the local dealership. It was dirt cheap, under $10 if I remember correctly. Trouble was, I received the wrong tray for my bike. I wasn't optimistic that the dealer would be able to get the right one, so rather than go to the bother of returning it, I cut away bits of the tray to make it fit around the tank mounts and seat latch. Now it works fine. I guess the moral of the story is, the tray isn't expensive to replace, but try to make sure you get the right one.

My Stone came with the tray and a tool kit. The tool kit just about fits over the tray, not much else will (1 spark plug and an emergency cable kit (clutch, throttle wires and screw stops).
An Odyssey pc680 battery will be taller and the tray won't fit.

I wonder it that may be the case.. Someone at one time had a taller battery in it. It sure doesnt look like a lot of room under that seat. With the battery, and mine has then evap canister, or valve in there...
