I really wanted a V7III but when I went to the dealer (Pro Italia) to buy it there was a T100 and T120 parked next to it. They looked very nice so I test rode all three. I came home with the T120 which was also the most expensive of the bunch. I passed on the Thruxton as I have ridden my friends several time and although I liked it, the T120 seemed to suit me and my riding style better. I love this bike. I've ride it to work almost every day. I bought the Triumph nylon bags and windscreen. I rode it from L.A. to Yosemite and Lake Tahoe, also to Carmel and back.

Heated grips, electric cruise control, USB, etc.
Jay doesn't buy a brand new bike often, but he did buy a new T120

Really nice, by far the best color choice, and it's a more practical bike than the Thruxton for the distances you've done.

Ha! Congratulations, Kirk. I went out this morning to buy a new V7II Special and bought a 2016 Thruxton R. I won't be riding it as much as you do yours but have wanted something with a bit of a kick to it the past few years. Good riding.

I totally get wanting/buying a T120.

I don't get as much the comparison to a V7.

I mean we just were looking seriously at the Street Twin/T100 and the V7III but the T120 is a different thing due to size (engine and chassis).

Nice bikes though.

Funny you posted this, I posted the other day I am looking for a 2nd bike, either a MG Stornello or Triumph Scrambler, while looking at some online, I came across some 2017 and demo T100s for about the same price and they are great looking bikes and upgraded from the past models. So many decisions..

My impression is that Triumph makes the most trouble-free, quality-built European bike on the market today.

Their Classic series also pushes all the correct styling buttons while providing the kind of power that a modern bike needs in today's market.

it's kind of funny really, everybody's take is a bit different. As along term Triumph guy I was looking forward to the new water cooled models but I just never connected with them, a little to sanitized for my tastes. The V7/50 tho, that felt right from the first mile; ability with a little fire in the belly. The T120 is a good bike, not quite up to its name sake IMHO but a good bike, it will serve you well. It all depends upon what you are looking for.

I test rode a new T120 in September. Really nice bike. Wonderful motor. Light and flickable. With the V&H cans...sigh.

I just couldn't get past the (slight) forward leaning sitting position. After a 1/2 hour test ride my wrists were killing me. I have had Carpal Tunnel Release surgery on both wrists and anything more than no pressure on them is too much.

Risers and an extended wiring harness are always an option. And Ventura sells a luggage system to fit.

The Bonnie is a contender, but I'll keep looking.

Street Cup does look good. No, I didn't ride one. I went with the Bonneville with the thought that it would be a better choice for longer rides.

Really nice T120 -- There is another thread going about having 2 of the same model motorcycle. I have an '04 T100, and would love to own a new T120, but feeling like the two bikes are just a bit too similar ! Very much looking forward to seeing one of the new Speed Twins though ...

I rode my 2010 865 Bonnie to the dealer last year and tested the new T120. What impresses is the torque and
Surge it has past 4000rpm. But it just didn’t compare well to the 865 for sharp handling. Then later the 865 lost to the 04 Bmw R1150R, that bike takes curves so well it’s become a keeper.

This was my old 1970 Triumph T100C Trophy 500....I bought it (restored) off an old duffer in Sun City, AZ back in 2014. Had I known that I was going to be living in Red Rock country (Sedona) several years later, I never would have sold it. It was a fun bike!

I don't know man......those Triumphs, only gotten about 70,000 miles on this one. Well, I did have to change the stator. Oh, and tires and brakes, oh and those damn CHAINS! I'm up to my 3rd one. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Good choice kirkemon!🤙👏 I've had my '18 t120 a year. It is a really feel good motorcycle to ride & set up the way you like I can't imagine you not thoroughly enjoying hopefully many miles of riding it. Mine is set up for the longer rides which they all seem to be from here in Nv.
The'18 V7III Carbon Shine I'm fortunate to have is set up for more aggressive day rides. They both return totally different rewarding feedback & fit where I'm at in life now.
Acquire another Ural in about 2 years & I like to think I'll finaly be content.

If I wasn't in love with my owned from new 2005 Breva750 I'd have to give one of the new Triumphs (probably a Street Twin) serious consideration. They look very right to me, in the way the V7s do. But of of course a V7III Stone would have to be in the mix too. Put some racks for my HB panniers and I'd be off!!!

Hopped over to the Triumph website for a peek. I forgot they 86'd the touring bikes (Trophy and Sprint?). The Rocket III still makes me grin. 2300cc's?
