Harold Beck RIP
« on: January 25, 2019, 02:14:30 PM »
Harold Beck 95 year old WWII vet died Wed PM complications of pneumonia. He lived all his life in the Noblesville Ind. area. He was still riding his Cal 2 sidecar rig until about 3 years ago. He spent most of his military career in Denver as an instructor on maintaining the guns on the B-29 bombers. I am going to miss the old fart and all his stories and help when I deeded help with my old stuff. Services will be Monday AM in Noblesville. Ciao Andy

What a gentleman!  I met Harold at the 2000 Illinois Rally and revisited for a number of years after that.

Back in the 90s when I became enamored with Guzzis, I joined the MGNOC, etc. At one of the first Guzzi lunches we attended, I met Harold. I said, "The" Harold Beck? He was well known.. He said, "I don't know about "the" but I'm "a" Harold Beck."
Back in the day, he was an Indian guy, and had many stories of Indian vs. HD. Made custom archery bows. Ran a heating business. Electrical contractor IIRC. A gentle, polite, and interesting guy. He'll be missed.
We bury him today.. RIP, Harold.
