2014 Norge Windscreen Motor KAPUTZ

Windscreen started getting erratic & quit on my NS trip this summer. About 2 weeks ago pulled and cleaned the switches & confirmed function. Took the time to pull out the gauge cluster and get to the WS relays and motor and confirmed voltage to the motor when pressing up button. Relay clicks sends magic juice to motor. Because it is in the down position, nothing happens when I press down button.

Swapped relay's switches, and tapped motor with hammer when pressing button, all to no avail.  $400 from AF1 for a new one?  UMMM..... No thanks.... Its fine in the down position. Still a bummer, I'm hoping to sell it this summer, and everything else is 100% (minus normal wear)  Anyone have a good source for cheaper motor?

My 14 had done that sort of thing from new.  It'll work for weeks straight and then for no discernible reason take the next three weeks off.
No amount of fiddling seems to matter.  Defies all logic, I'm aware.  It's an electrical circuit-should be traceable and repairable.
Not for me as I csan't get it fixed.  Doesn't seem to matter anymore though!

The worm gear that sticks off the motor has been known to break. I do think  the large majority of them do okay though. You will probably need to get a replacement motor. (The gear is attached.)

As an aside, I made it a point when I had my Norge, that I not move the windshield while moving at speed. I really don't know if it made any difference or not but I figured the additional loading from wind might stress the motor/gear so I refrained from operating it above in town speeds.

As I recall, they are kind of pricey.

Dug a bit deeper today, decided to run power straight from battery to the motor, and it works both directions. Traced back a bit deeper, and found one relay stuck. Pulled off the relay covers, sprayed contact cleaner and freed it up. One is solid, one works intermittently, so will order one. $60... Ugh. Still good news.

What's not obvious is the End of Travel Limits, how do they accomplish that?
Surely the motor doesn't just slip?

I had my dash apart a few years ago, I seem to recall micro-switches that activated at the end of the motors travel.  It's been awhile so I'm not 100%...

Yes, there is a micro switch at the end of travel in both directions. Hard stop on travel as well, likely on the screw mechanism.
