I think the fender is on backwards, picture of the fender on my 1973

Picture of Ebay bike, front fender should extend further forward, its easy to get them backwards, same with the Le Mans the fender will fit either way but it should reach further forward.

This is the one in the Moto Guzzi Museum

It looks to be correct from what I can see in the pictures, it's a twin to the one I just sold on the weekend.

The ad doesn't say of the cylinders have been replaced, assume the worst, it's and easy job to fit new Giladorni kits. I think $14 ~ $15K would be a good purchase.

Do a google search for images of "V7 Sport" and view "images." The vast majority of these bikes have the fender as shown in the seller's photo.

Hmmm, I am probably wrong, sorry about that, I agree most pictures how the fender longer at the rear, strange the museum bike has it the other way around.

aesthetically it looks much better with the longer part up front like the museum bike.

It looks a very good example to me. Don't worry about chrome bores. They can be replated with nikasil or as I've just done, replaced with Gilardoni cylinders and pistons (around £550 GBP). It still has the original lightweight starter motor without solenoid. Also original Koni shocks. Just dump the horrible indicators. For comparison mine's also a 2nd series production, 1973

I always thought that the way to identify an original V7 Sport front fender was to look for the INOX stamp mark at the front edge. Some bikes I looked at did not have that stamp. Maybe the fender was just turned the other way, dunno. Best thing is, you can mount it any way you like, it's still an original fender.

My serial number is 32429, very close! The seller's bike is missing the all important side reflector on the font fender brace, ha!

Nice bike ... bidding usually happens last minute.
Bike was repainted , odo has 00000 miles but title says 15000 so assume mileage unknown.
Quoting the seller: bike was put back together in 2006 and rode once ......
I wonder does it runs now ?
Last time it runs was in 2006 , why?

Anyway bidding has no reserve the starting price is very reasonable.
I bet it won’t go for lot of money ... guzzisti are a cheap breed....( unfortunately)

Looks like Moto Guzzi couldn't decide how to mount the front fender even on the identification picture in the Service Manual printed for the V7 Sport - 750S - 850T

The V7 Sport has it mounted long edge forward and the 750S has it long edge back! Another example of anything goes on the assembly line.

Looks like the resolved it for the 850T by lengthening the fender so its long front and back.

That is not the correct fender for this V7 Sport. The tell is that there are factory holes for the brake line mounts for twin. front of fork mounted brembos such as the Convert, G5, and T3. These are visible in the front wheel photo. The Inox sport fender has holes located further back, just aft of the rear fender support. Those holes are not present on this bike. On my 32014 Sport, the Inox is at the rear of the fender in order for the brake line rubber supports to be in their proper orientation.

It`s still a real nice looking, unmolested bike that has most of it`s original appointments.

I agree with 5154guzzi. I bought my 74 Sport brand new (October 1973) and the fender has never been disassembled. Longer length of fender on top, INOX stamp on bottom, and grommets for cables are just below the lower brace.

It is very cool how a simple thread like this one can morph into a fender thread. I never noticed the differences in the V7 front fender until this thread. Now, every other picture I look at seems to have the fender mounted opposite to the previous picture.

Here are pictures of my V7 Sport front fender. Long edge is mounted forward. I do prefer the look of long edge being forward.

...and the Inox is stamped at the lower edge of the fender. It is hard to make out because of the reflectsions, but I think you can see it here.

Somewhere in a box I have one of those V7 Sport front fenders, NOS. I have forgotten how I got it...

Travman, that is a beautifully restored bike.

The bikes in the Mandello museum were in some cases pulled off the assembly line and in some cases more like a test mule prepared for display with some new parts. I think you have to be a bit careful using those bikes for reference. Guzzi's people themselves were not as careful in assembly and display as we sometimes try to be.

Wanted to let everyone know I have no connection to the seller.
Starting to wonder if there will be any bids... I suppose not knowing the actual mileage isn't helping. I initially thought it would easily bring $15K but it really isn't original even though it has (mostly) original parts.
