Gimme the Moggie any day. It's just so gorgeously eccentric in that oh so English way. Love it!

What powers them these days? It was once J A Prestwich, same as George's Brough Superior line, & probably quite a few others. But that's definitely no JAP motor. A Hesketh? A flatulent Milwaukee Hardly Dangerous?

As an alternative there's always one of those awfully bland & boring Seadoodoo-type 3 wheelers. Of Canadian origins too I believe. I forget the proper name for it: Snowcat?? There's literally ferryloads of tourists 'of that certain age' that ship them from Australia to drive??/ride??/steer?? 'em around Tassie. They invariably look unhappy: something to do with our 'four seasons in one day' perhaps?

I'm probably being a bit unfair. For all I know they may very well be the best thing since the Wonderbra. I'll never know coz just like the Wonderbra I personally wouldn't be seen dead in/on/astride one.

I really like this...but a Morgan or TriKing or similar 3-wheel reverse trike would be way cool as well!

I think the current Morgan uses an S&S powerplant on a Miyata’s clutch/transmission. The Guzzi versions are sentimental favorites...

Thanks for that. I'm unfamiliar with both of those brands. Unsurprising in some ways: the SS or S&S brand has fairly threatening if not outright sinister & evil connotations where I come from, and Miata sounds vaguely reminiscent of an infectious disease. Both are uniquely North American I presume?

My father in law would love to get back on a bike. Sadly, he's pushing 70 now and worries about his balance.

I told him I'm rebuilding that 82 Goldwing, and was planning to put a DMC sidecar on it.

I don't think I've ever seen that man happier.

That could be a mechanically driven blower sitting twixt the cylinder heads , although it might just be some fancy air cleaner . The largest version of the X Wedge is well over 2,000 CC's and produces enormous torque numbers .

If I was designing a trike from scratch , it would house an R3 motor and slightly resemble a 1950's Lakebed streamliner with modern suspension , brakes , and some modicum of crash protection . If it won't lean , or squeeze thru narrow spaces , it needs to give some protection .

I fear the day when that comes for me, but it surely must unless misadventure intervenes.
I’d sooner own a boat than a Morgan or sidecar, but I can conceive of seeing myself out on a trike if it came to that..
Or in an extreme case..?

My fathers choice in vehicles was a little strange going back. When he was 18 he bought a three wheel BSA car with front wheel drive that some nut had squeezed a British Anzani 8 valve racing engine into. Terrifying was the description my mum gave of it. While they were courting he used to work on it while she sat and watched. When they got married it had to be sold to buy an oil heater. I think my dad was a frustrated fighter pilot. He always went a bit dewy eyed when he saw a three wheel Morgan. I would love a three wheel Mog but in Australia they are extortionately priced as they are registered as cars and had to be complianced as such. This pushed the price into the stupid region.
