ECU Flash
« on: May 28, 2019, 09:12:46 PM »
Got a Beetle map installed in my 2006 CalVin this afternoon and wow!  It feels as if I just got a new pair of Ked's sneakers; I can now run faster and jump higher.

Being the third owner of this ol' girl, I have been working on ways of repairing the abuse from those before and making her all mine.  Today the PowerCommander III module was pulled and a Beetle ECU map installed - so long to that piece of hardware.  Anyway, the ECU flash on my CalVin went off without a hitch, thanks to Beetle's wonderful tutorial and clear examples.  Now my bike starts easier, no longer backfires when I am off-throttle and running downhill, has an even and predictable throttle response along with feeling stronger throughout the rev range.  An added benefit appears to be an ease of running in the lower RPMs range - with strength.

Beetle map!  Beetle map!  Beetle map!  This is going to be one of my new mantras.

Now if our California Central Sierra weather would get back to normal I could spend more time riding.

Rumor has it that if you repeat the phrase "beetle map beetle map beetle map" 5 times really fast that Mark will magically appear

That's what I am thinking!

The more I ride mine the more I know I really got to get going and remap mine!

Yes, we cannot thank beetle enough for what he has given us, and continues to give us.
