+1 on Grip Puppies. Very nice. I’ve installed a number of them on my bikes.

I believe you are correct, this is 7/8. MG cycle sells grips that size. IDK why Dusty has 3/4 bars on his.

Wait , dangit , was thinking 22 MM and somehow wrote 19 . Sorry , was watching flat track and thinking 19 inch wheels and it's hot and humid today, and there is a cat stuck on my neighbors roof , and I ran outta gas ...It wasn't my fault ...

My favorite for Tonti Calis 1100 and later  .One of Guzzi's better attempts at Harley-izing. A little pricey but super comfortable. Fits earlier bikes and lastly, a Guzzi solution, if not so much a Guzzi price

7/8" should fit well on 22 mm bars, at least they did on mine.

I have a twinge of arthritis in my hands which is aggravated by hard, small-diameter grips.  For this reason I prefer to "roll my own" grips.  Starting with any set of standard grips, I wrap them in multiple layers of Tournagrip, a soft, cushiony over-wrap for tennis racquet handles.  By varying the density and direction of the wraps any grip thickness or shape desired can be achieved.  Once this underlayment is at the desired configuration, I finish it with leather tennis overwraps that have raised texture and a tacky surface.  The result is an ultra-comfortable grip, easy on the hands, with the throttle side having greater leverage (due to larger diameter) to counter over-zealous throttle springs.  Admittedly, my home-mades may look a bit funky and ad hoc, but for me they work better than anything I have found commercially available.

I prefer ProGrip gel grips.  Bars are 7/8" under the controls.  My favorite has been the #699.
