Anybody from this board going to the North Carolina Guzzi rally August 2-4? Ive never been to it and thinking about going??? Any info on it? I see no tent reservations required at the Blue Ridge Motorcycle campground, so that's good! Thanks....

I may go. Last year there were 2 and some disagreements about a bunch of bull. You may like it Bob. Info is on the Club site. MGNOC

That was 2 years ago Steve. Last year there was a bad forecast for the weekend and as a result the turnout was light. I think there were still about 40-50 however.

I will be there as usual. One thing on the nightly provisions- Phil (the owner) has gone gluten free so rum is drink of choice.

The Moto Guzzi Rally at Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground in Cruso NC is a favorite local event for us in WNC. The campground is located on HWY 276 between the Blue Ridge Parkway and Waynesville NC. There are camping cabins and numerous tent sites available. There is an onsite restaurant that serves decent meals at reasonable prices. It is a laid back event that is organized by Mark and Barb who have been making it happen for years. It is a great ride to arrive there and usually has a good turnout of a lot of different Guzzi models represented. Last year the rain kept a lot of folks away but a few of us made it anyway. The local Guzzi riders are also having Guzzi night at the Wedge Brewery at Studio location in Asheville NC on Wednesday July 31 for those that show up early for the Cruso Rally Aug. 2-3.

i have been there a number of times for rallys and just to go. for me, it is the perfect mileage for a day ride, about 350. i am going to try and come down friday. if i can recover my sanity, i will still be on Blu, if not, possibly a v85.

I've haven't seen the V85 in the flesh. Bring us one!!!

The good thing about this rally is as long as you are camping there's not much planning to do; you just show up.

Is campground full? I thought they had plenty of tent space with no reservations needed or are you talking about a cabin rental or? Thanks

Plenty of tent space is available.

Tim is probably looking for a cabin and those were full for this weekend when I was up there last month.

Always wanted to stay at the Pisgah Inn myself, no idea on vacancy or pricing tho.... Waynesville may also have some rooms in proximity

Sounds like fun. I either have to go to my cabin cut, split, and stack firewood for me to use it in fall/winter or i go to the North Carolina rally. Watching the weather forecast. Decisions Decisions!!!!!!

I got the V85, but don't think I will be able to make the rally. I would not be able to start until 2pm or so and it is a 7 or 8 hour ride for me. New bike in the dark, not for me anymore. Have fun.

It's too bad when I see people say "I'll keep an eye on the weather"

If you arent from around here, you might not realize that your weather app will show raindrops and say there is a 70-100% chance of rain showers literally everyday here all summer.... But its isolated, scattered, and in almost all cases the rains are brief & passing. I guess that's life in the "temperate rain forest"

Here for sure.... there is more or less a 60%+ chance of scattered showers forecast everyday from May-Sept... We get more rain than Seattle by a fair margin.. Esp up on the parkway, it can be cool, misty & patchy drizzle even in the heat of summer

If I stayed home everytime my weather app showed clouds & raindrops, I would never get to ride! Wednesday, forecast said 100% chance of rain showers.. when I got off work at 3:30 it had been blazing sunny & hot all day... I went for a 2hr ride out the parkway, circled back and rode right by the BRMC campground, then back home thru Waynesville... I got 5min of mist on the parkway and 5 min of steady rain as I was rolling back into AVL city limits... If I had relied on the forecast I would have sat on the couch!
