If You Could Only Have 1 Analog Guzzi
« on: August 07, 2019, 04:24:55 PM »
Jim's thread got me thinking.  If the lone Guzzi left in the garage had to be a pre-computer model what would it be?    A number of you already have this covered by your choice in Jim's thread.

If I could have 2 that would be a much easier decision but just 1 is tough.  If 2 I would go with my V7 Sport and Eldorado.

But back to the subject line; my Eldorado could fill the bill, but I think I would opt for a nice G5.

One time, long, long ago, I had the pleasure of riding member, Chuck Peterson's Convert.
Point ign., carbs., Bub mufflers, Vetter fairing, FAC dampers, DB bags, Nice smooth ride, very little vibration.
Handled bumps well, perfect ride for exploring upper New England.
Think he said it got about 50 MPG. Would have been perfect if he didn't slap my hand, because I was reaching for the clutch...that wasn't there
Bet he never thought I'd remember so many details about that bike. But I was impressed!

The most comfortable long distance tourer ever (for me, at least).

Not as versatile as the V7 - the long wheel base is not so good for sustained tight twisties & not a comfortable gravel road machine, but otherwise the quintessential Guzzi, whines, rattles and all. If not that, Then I believe I could make do with a Magni Arturo.

Was lucky enough to buy this one about 4 years ago but the paint is only 3 months old. Wildguzzi's own dsrdave did a nice job on the GM color that Dave Swanson and others have used. The bike looks so nice even my wife said she understood why I had to buy it when it became available!  :thewife:

Between the G5 and AeroLario.. the Lario gets the nod. Surprisingly enough, Dorcia likes the Lario, too. I looked for a G5 for a long time so she would have a more comfortable perch..

Hmm...a G5 is good but I am split between a 90 Cal III touring and a SPII.
Hey, I have both!
Both do everything I want or need.

It would be a tough decision between these two...One is nicer to look at ,the other is nicer to ride, but one of these would do the trick for me!

I'd have to agree with the OP, a G5 would be at the top of my list. I wish i could find a decent one to buy, or even an in-decent one that I could restore! I'm still looking.

G5, or an all red Le Mans V Ultima Edizione. Since I have a G5, then I'll go with that for now... pic opportunity
