Eldorado Passenger Backrest and Luggage Rack
« on: September 08, 2019, 07:33:10 PM »
I found this picture of an all black Eldorado 1400 with a nice looking passenger backrest and an integrated luggage rack. The picture isn't great on the link and the ad has subsequently been removed. But do you know who makes or made this rack? It looks well integrated and very useful while retaining the original Eldorado seat.

Here's the link: http://www.theparking-motorcycle.eu/used-motorcycles-detail/moto-guzzi-eldorado/si-propone-moto-guzzi-eldorado-1400-moto-e-scooter-usato-in-vendita-la-spezia/0DESRO8.html

I would love to find a Crome backrest and luggage rack like that one for my 1400 tourer but I’m not willing to fork out 500+ to get one.

Hepco Becker do them, not cheap as you say but not much else available, I believe Guzzi do one as well

I've not found anything like the rear passenger backrest / rack in the picture of the link I posted for the Eldorado 1400 on Moto Guzzi, Hepco & Becker, Ventura or  Stein Dinse websites. CA Touring, yes, Eldorado 1400, nothing yet.

It's hard to tell from the pic, but I'll wager it was a custom made piece. Considering the pillion seat uses the stock grab rail for its mount, my best guess would be that the original owner started with that and modified it for the rack and back rest.

Other than that, fitting a one piece seat with a H-B rack is about the only option. Or doing what I did, but the backrest is incorporated into the trunk.

If it is a one off, which seems likely, it looks to be done well. I like that it retains the Eldorado seat instead of using the one piece Touring seat. There was some talk on this site months back that Guzzi was going to release one similar to this. Piaggio had a nice chrome one mounted to an Eldorado in their booth at a show but it somehow got lost in the shuffle and hasn't made it to production.
