One of the forks on my EV weeped for years. I would clean it with a plastic hook. But after a few years it began to leak pretty badly.The seal and upper and lower bushings were changed. Procured from Harpers. I think it was about $75.Perhaps that's not what you were asking?
Right You are, Dustmeister. The outermost piece is there to keep the big stuff out and the seal keeps the oil in. Paul B
Humm, I think you should replace the really stupid fork seals with more intelligent ones. ZZ
So, on those forks the wiper is also part of the seal? I have never seen that before. Usually you have the wiper above, and below held by a circlip of some sort resides the actual oil seal. I always add gaiters to all my bikes forks , as soon as I can, so my fork seals seem to last forever !Rick.
