I have a 2017 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, really like it, rides well, sharp looking, durable, my issue was more with the dealers incompetence and concerned they couldnt fix anything right the 1st time, below is what I went through when I bought it. Most recently, with 34k miles on it was the brakes were making a moaning noise when I came to a stopped and turned the vehicle. They did fix it and sanded the front rotors down which had rust on them as well as checking all the brake parts. So far so good.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1 visit to the dealer for the initial odometer flashing on the day I made delivery-1 visit back to have it fixed although incorrectly-1 visit back to have the vehicle checked again for the above service done incorrectly and diagnosed as needing a new radio-1 visit back to have a new radio installed which hopefully is the correct fix-1 visit back after I went to the DMV and the POA was not included-1 visit back to pick up the corrected paperwork which turned out was still incorrect-1 visit back after my 2nd trip to the DMV as the title was not properly documented-1 visit to your other dealership to have a key cut but not successful-1 trip back to Johnston to supposedly get a key cut but later turned out had to have a key fob ordered-1 trip back to pick up the key fob
As Kev said above, it sounds like there is nothing wrong with your Jeep. Could be that it's a fine, solid piece of equipment that anyone could own with confidence. Why do people keep thinking that your experience makes your Jeep sound like a lemon? I don't know much about Jeeps, having owned only a 1980 J10 pickup for 20 years, but why does this experience say anything about the quality or function of the vehicle?I'm mighty afraid that this is a good example of why anecdotal stories about vehicles aren't really worth much as vehicle quality reviews on t'Internet ....Lannis
Since you show pic of Jeep I'll add my Subi.
Sweet! This thread is picking up!
They may be great cars , but their current US advertising campaign is so irritating I wouldn’t be able to bring myself to own one!
I’ve owned quite a few Subaru’s. Stay away from the 2.5l engine. 90% of Subaru engine issues are with the 2.5l. They suffer high oil consumption AND typically need the heads done every 80k miles. That’s an easy $2,000. You can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a Subaru in New England. That’s not because we’re all lesbians. Subaru’s are popular with us straight folk too. They’re genuinely fun to drive on gravel or snow. They get better mileage than most SUV’s. They have decent interior space in Forester or Impreza wagon trim. They can be reliable...if you get the right one. Even if you get a bad one, the cause and fix is well known. There’s no mystery to solve to get one sorted.
I get the impression that Moto Guzzi's are like Beetles, owners will shine on all sorts of shortcomings because they like the vehicle...
And the piston slap.....I had a nice 99 Forester 5 speed bought used around 2006....By the time it had 100K miles, both head gaskets were leaking, all four wheels bearings need replacement, the AC failed, power window master switch failed. But other than that it was a nice driving car..I get the impression that Subarus are like Beetles, owners will shine on all sorts of shortcomings because they like the vehicle...
*********Thanks for all the comments on Subarus and the Lincoln, Im keeping my Jeep as my issues were never w/ the Jeep but the horrible service the dealer provided, they seem to have improved this time around*********
Anyone see the Subaru Forester Ultimate Customised Kit?I think it's a real thing.Rich A
My 98 literally exploded a rear differential due to 'torque bind' because son mis-matched tires.
