Just got my MGX back from the dealer to check the Master Cylinder recall and to get my MGMP working. The M/C tested good (was my assessment too) and GREAT news, the MGMP finally works.
A few points and then the procedure that works (on android, assume similar on iphone).
- The firmware does need to be updated, but when you press and hold the intercom button, the message says V2.0. That doesn't relate to the firmware/software, but that the module is the 2nd generation MGMP module.
- BT Router - THIS is what you pair the Moto Guzzi MGMP App to NOT PMP2 or MGMP, etc..
- MG SINK - This is the media/music streaming function. You have to pair BOTH for all to work.
- Once you pair the MGMP and select English, the warning message will be in English.
Here are the steps the tech sent me (modified a bit). Remember, this is ITALIAN TECH.....
1. Install the Moto Guzzi Multi Media Platform APP. If installed already, go to apps, select The MGMP app, click storage and clear the cache and app data to reset the app properties. Reopen and select MGX 21. This guarantees a fresh install.
2. Unpair and forget all MG bluetooth devices on the phone. If you were using music, it will be the MG-SINK
3. Turn KEY ON MGX-21. Wait for the end of the warning screen.
4. OPEN the APP on the phone. "WAITING FOR CONNECTION" will display.
5. Go to phone Bluetooth Settings and select PAIR NEW DEVICE
6. HOLD DOWN the intercom button (little round button on left controls) until BT-ROUTER Pairing Mode appears. (APP on phone must already be open! Very important!)
7. CONNECT to BT-ROUTER.
8. CONNECT to MG-SINK. Blue BT light will illuminate on LH dash.
Go to APP. Should be working now, but if not, close the app and reopen. It should sync right up. Once the app is connected, you can go into the settings in the app three dots in top right corner. That opens a menu option, click settings and there are several options. Click to switch to US. That did something in the bike to permanently change the language to US. You can also select what each field shows. Small fields change by tapping, large by swiping.

*I've found that once paired, the MGMP (BT Router) syncs right up when you restart the bike, and when you open the app, if connects immediately. The MG SINK for music is hit or miss. To reconnect it, just go to bluetooth settings and click it to reconnect. It is already paired, but doesn't always connect. I use a dedicated old Motorola Cell phone, so it may just be the phone. You can pair up to 5 devices to the bike.
** Note: If you unpair or forget the BT Router from the phone, it is NOT a simple reconnect, you have to follow the instructions above. In my case the BT router was asking for a pin code. NONE worked, but using the procedure above reconnected all.
Of course YMMV....
I also installed a set of chinesium shorty brake anc clutch levers and they are spot on perfect for reach. At longest reach they are the same as stock, at shortest, put the lever right at second joint on finger.

Finally, I need to give a BIG shout out and complements to Moto Richmond. They did a great job, very communicative, quality work, and were super easy to work with. Kind of dealer I WANT to buy from. Highly recommend.
