MG V9 Seat Recommendations ?
« on: March 09, 2020, 08:36:40 AM »
After riding this V9 Bobber a couple of hundred miles, I am wondering what might be available in aftermarket seats.

Anyone change their V9 seat ?

What do you have ?

I would need something that would fit with the Givi rear rack.

I don't know if this will help you out or if you'd be interested , my stock stornello seat was like riding on a two by four after an hour. Sent it away to astech seats had it redone. Night and day. Also bought an air hawk inflatable pad, helped a lot too. Astech was very good to work with and quick turn around.

I had the same experience with my stock seat. I tried the Solo Seat(pic) and found it to be a good move for me. Its a direct replacement from Guzzi and one can also get a mated passenger set that fits behind it. I have the Givi rack and it all works with it. I didnt bother with the passenger seat as I wont be having anyone riding with me. Wife has her own rig.
As for the difference, with the stock seat I was only good for about 50 miles but with the solo seat I can run out the gas tank. For me this works as one has to stop for gas at that point and you get a good break. I believe that if I were to add something like an Air Hawk it would make it better yet. But I am good to go with what I have.

That might work just fine - assuming that it would work with the passenger seat installed and the Givi rack installed.  I won't be riding a passenger, but the extra area provided by the passenger seat will allow me to tie on extra luggage.

When touring with my former Roamer, I always used an Airhawk.  But then again, I’ve had to use an Airhawk when touring on every bike I’ve ever owned.  Here’s the tender ass gang!  :thumb:

Eddy at 73 Cycle in CT can rebuild your seat and keep the stock look.  He does a great job with stuff like that.
Google him.  I've seen and felt his work and it's top notch.
