Bagger race

News from the states, its official, Bagger race at Laguna Seca moto America superbike race (after I think) July 10th.

Feuling W 3,( three cylinder HD), will not race but will be there, a 131 cubic inch limit on engines for racers and the  W 3 has 150.

Should be a hoot for you Hog guys...

Some of those modified baggers can really haul through the curves.

There will be rules I'm told but the only one I know for sure is the 131 cubic inch capacity limit.

The bagger moniker was coined for the big American Vs' HD and Indian, and the main sponsor is drag specialties, most likely to promote their catalog business.

Its a novelty thing to get more people to the races I suppose.

The 1400 or a BMW 1600 would have maybe an unfair advantage because they both CAN go around a corner and might do the corkscrew w/o crashing or leaving parts.

Sounds like a good spectator thing rather than a race but the big inch HDs can really hustle in a straight line.

Something different, hoping to be able to watch from somewhere...Ha!~

Somebody ought to show up with and MGX and hope a 1600 Beemer doesn't show up. My Audace can easily smoke my Harley bagger buddies and but think the one Indian guy could be a problem.

Rideapart says the rules are not finalized, but it looks like it will be a V-twin series.

The Guzzi 1400 might qualify, but I doubt the Goldwing will.

They're supposed to be releasing a list of approved motorcycle models soon.

Couple of years ago I watched Bubba Blackwell on his 131 inch Bagger with E-Bay Jake on the pillion doing power wheelies on the banked front straight at New Smyrna Speedway at the Sons Of Speed races!!!!

I wonder if this isn't being held for legal reasons. Every aftermarket exhaust comes with the warning "off road closed competition only". Perhaps California is finally insisting that there be a race series that uses these exhausts.
