V9 Bobber riser swap?
« on: March 19, 2020, 11:21:15 AM »
Hi all

I was looking at my Bobber the other day and then it hit me. The risers are too...high. The bar needs to move down and forward. I google this and realized this is how the V9 Bobber Sport is set up which just looks better to me.

That being said, I would like to lower my handlebar to be similar to the Sport. Below pic shows my risers. Any help on which riser I should get that works with the V9?

Is the job as easy as loosening the two bolts underneath for the lower clamps and the 4 bolts on top for the upper clamps? You will need to excuse my lack of experience here.

I cant find V9 Sport risers online as a genuine part so looking aftermarket. Below shows off the Sport side profile vs regular side profile.

Our V9 roamer was set up on the showroom floor with the bar risers for the Bobber.  They left those in place but also gave us the original Roamer mounts.  The original Roamer mounts were considerably lower so we used those.  It may be the bar mounts and part number for the Roamer that you need.
My favorite rides:
1978 Triumph Bonneville
2005 Triumph Thruxton
2007 Triumph Sprint ST
2010 Moto Guzzi V7
2017 Moto Guzzi V9
Beechcraft BE24R

Funny you say that. I just realized a minute before your response that the Sport and Roamer risers look almost the exact same.

I assume I could use the same hardware and only order the two clamps as per the below diagram?

Are you the Joe who sent me the V9 Agostinis a week ago?

You can use this solution: https://www.lsl.eu/121-m021?___store=en&bike=72934&___from_store=de
Installation is very easy and the effect is a more front wheel oriented handling.

For a perfect look, I also recommend lowering the headlight and the speedo armature.

I love the looks of your bike. The fat front tire looks cool!

Thanks a lot!
The fat front tire is standard equipment on the V9 Bobber.  :bike-037:

This is what I like to do as well however, I have a question for you: the control cables, did you keep the originals or did you replace them with shorter ones to compensate for lower setting? Thanks.

I didn‘t change any cable. No problem.
The brake lines now rest on the fork leg (so it canˋt go any lower) and for the speedometer unit you have to tinker yourself a bracket to get this lower.

Thanks for this info. I think this is what I'll do once the weather gets better in Vancouver.
