Mid 80's Soviet KMZ sidecar rig is of course the Dnepr

Knight framed KTM 500 flattracker is the Race Bike

The GRiSO is just the GRiSO

although the wife calls it the Kitchen, ref to major undone home improvement

My olde 350 matchless was called "Little Esmel". I was also called Oily Esmel, old clatterbang and start ya bastard.

None of the following Hondas were given names, went perfectly well but not much soul.

My 750 Breva has a sort of hunchback tank, hence the name "Guzzimodo".

I've read every one of your posts, and kudos on your creative names for your bikes. I passed them on to my family and friends. We all gave a chuckle or a nod. There were those that were humorous and those...a little deeper. I am humbled

. Some of you lead with your hearts and others with your heads. Either way...great names and background stories. Keep'm comin.

The only bike I have ever named, I rode round the country, then sold her to Britman. Gentleman, I give you Sophia. Dark Italian, with big jugs, a big round backside and she loved to be ridden all day. Ciao Bella

I've named cars and tractors, but never named a bike. Odd that I hadn't thought about it before reading this thread. I still have to think about it.

So far it has just been the Guzzi, the Triumph, the XR200R, the IT, the boondocker, the 305, the Ducati, and (before I let a friend have it), the Cub, plus a few others that have come and gone along the way without even generic names.

My old '84 red & white SPNT is "Shadowfax" (still so named by the present owner) My '74 Eldo Police is "Strider". both names from LOTR. My red & creme '98 EV was-is? "Lovely Rita, the redhead" My 2 newest steeds, an '03 V11 Sport Naked (Maroon tank) and a '17 V7III Special in blue are unnamed as yet. But the "song" from the Mistral mufflers on the Sport keep telling me "Thunder" or maybe "Thor". Back in my (very) younger days when I raced MX my K501 Maico was "that**&%$$beast"....and the 360 Yamaha I started out racing on was "pain" (for what it did to my body...and rebuilding the transmissions on so many Yamaha enduro/MXers when I had my bike shop).

The V7II is “Topo Gigo” , named after the character on the Ed Sullivan show . “Come on Eddie , lets go play on back roads” .

My 1400 tourer got Mother Goose due to the big rear end and of course, Goose for guzzi.

I generally don't name motorcycles, and have enjoyed that the manufacturer took care of that for me with most of my Moto Guzzi's. The one exception to this was my 1979 Yamaha xs1100. I named it "Visitation" so that I could ride whenever I wanted, andwhen someone called my office my wife or secretary could legitimately say I was out on "visitation."

I have never named any of my bikes but all my 4 wheelers have or had names. My refrigerator white hot rod Duster was The Great White Money Pit. My current vehicle a Crew Cab, 8' bed, Ram Dually is The Freight Train. Especially feels like one when trying to park it in some of the current cramped parking lots.

For me it’s the personality of the bike. Or vehicle. I’m going to be sexist here (sorry ladies) and say that my male named vehicles are more boring, less drama, do the job and get it done. The vehicles with female names are more fun, less sensible, and more fun to ride!

So , Suzuki named this one right . Its got one 94mm piston and a 94mm stroke but they did put a good counter balance system in. At lower 2krpm every beat shows up in a nice way , below 1.5krpm things are not nice . Its called the SAVAGE .
