Thanks guys, all of you have been great with the responses and suggestions, all
Have been valid and has caused this warning response on these 1400 series.
Last night one on the guys here walked Wife and I through the Guzzidiag process to run another diagnostic test. We had already did this but since the first time, the bike had actually went into limp mode twice, however with no Urgent warning icon.
Low and behold two codes had been thrown. Yep the dreaded
PO155 and PO156....TPS SENSOR:(
We reset everything and crossing fingers hoping it’s was just a glitch with the sensor and not a bad one since no other URGENT SERVICE icon was activated, like the first time it went bad.
Lucian found a new one on EBay,at a good price, that I am going to go ahead and buy, just in case.
This will be the third TPS sensor for this bike in 7K miles, there won’t be a fourth while I’m the owner. This is like marrying a fine woman that turns into a total b|+<# a few years later.
Yup as Tammy Wynette once sang..... D-I-V-O-R-C-E BECAME FINAL TODAY😂😂😂😂

Just my luck,  the EBay sensor was sold at 5:00 AM this morning. If any of you guys beat me to it I’ll give you a hundred bucks profit 👍

Dan, there are 2 more for sale on ebay from the UK for about $200 shipped, just search B044414 and you'll see them on the last search page where they show listings from other countries.  Both are from the same vendor and say they are new w/o the original packaging so I don't know what that story is, but probably worth asking.

I just ordered one from Canada, a used parts dealer, for 75 bucks + 15.00 shipping.
Hopefully I will not need it after we reset all the sensor parameters last night. I rode it several miles today and so far so good. Keeping fingers crossed but just in case my Pastor standing by to preform an exorcist :)

As you were not getting the oil can as we thought, this would make sense. 4th Sensor??? Yeah, I'm glad I'm out of the MGX...... I know this is a rare problem, but it is likely, and probably the 5th I've seen on this and other forums. Still, a marginally small number, but for 'me' I prefer less tech to go bad than more, and the MGX/1400's are loaded with it.

Pastor standing by to preform an exorcist :)

Did you have your Pastor perform an excorism  the last time ?
Did you pay ?  If you don't pay, then you get re-possessed.

Lol, too funny Kev😂
Well I think I see why we have trouble sometimes with our beloved Guzzis.
I called the only dealer in NC to research the TPS issue with some of these bikes and see if a new one was on the shelves. The gentleman was very honest and respectful. He sympathized with my situation and was aware of it as he has dealt with the company on this and other issues. He recommended calling the customer service department on the East Coast and offered me a number.
I did reach a live person and after 5 minutes I realized he must have need trained by a professional politician, in other words, he spoke a lot and didn’t say crap!
He pretty much said that issues involving multiple models should be addressed through local dealers. I explained to him they were few and far between and their number one complaint was they have little of no dealer support.
Bottom line is I have a vast amount of experience with dealing with difficult people in difficult settings and quickly realized the conversation needed to end, so I abruptly ended the talk with “have a nice day “
So, I’ve came you accept that I live the bikes but the Piaggio SUX!

Update:

It’s pretty much official, I’ve got another bad TPS, #3.  One of my buddy pals here walked us through the process of code checking and the PO155 and 156 showed up. Today I started it up and the triangle warning came on blinking and the 1400 went directly to limp mode. I switched off and restarted and the triangle was emitting a solid red, without the limp mode. Turned off and restarted and no triangle at all and the bitch ran fine. All this was in the span of around one minute.
I found a used TPS in Canada for 78.00 + 14.00 shipping and got in in today. One more diagnostic check and if the TPS code shows, it’s tank off time.
I think I know how to remedy this issue for once and all I plan to change the bikes color. Yep I’m going to color the bitch, GONE!!!
