Thanks for the video!!! Just now finished listening to the 78 TT Mike just won on his Ducati. His comeback to IOM after 11 years. Waiting to hear the post race interview. This week Manx Radio has Mountain Memories. The station has the list of times posted. Neat part too is all the motobike ads from back in the day!! For TT fans the ADV forum in the racing section has tons of stuff posted by Gone Troppo

The only motorbike racer ever be paid to NOT race for another factory . Mr Honda believed Mike was that good . Some say Surtees because he won titles in f1 and 500 gp motorcycles , some say Rossi , Marquez is likely going tow own all the records before he is thru, heck , I can make an argument that Joey D or Doohan were as good . Angel Nieto won all of those small bore titles , Roberts changed the sport as did Bazza , no argument from me as to how great all of those guys were/are .

BUT ...Mike is still the only racer to be paid not to race for a different factory .

I didn't know that.  I'd like to be so good at anything that my previous boss would pay me to not do what I do well.  That's a great story, Dusty!  Hailwood rules!

The guys were tough back then, notice how they had to push start the bike from start or after a pit stop, no calling for the trailer for those guys lol
