New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
Tired of the dangerous coating of my rear tire with gear oil because Guzzi hires morons as engineers. Of course they tell lies like it is overfilled which i can tell ya mine has exactly 240ml in there that comes out now which is less than half of a dry fill and this was after a nice spirited 30 minute ride last night.
^^ The only way you can get a full liter in a 5 speed tranny (Le Mans2 or T-3) is if you fill it on the side stand I believe you meant 3/4 liter . Peter
By no means an expert, but my understanding/experience is that this is from the fluid level being too high, but if you only put 240ml, you are WAY too low. If you have a V7ii or ii series, the proper amount is 500ML or .5 Liters of 75W/90. The older 5 speed transmissions were a full liter.
Assuming you have a V7ii abs, drain out the oil (overnight preferably), carefully measure out 450 ml, and fill. On my v7ii, i had tried 500ml and it puked. As per Pete Roper's suggestion, i went with 450ml and it's never puke since.
The OP said he put 240ML which is very low.
I interpreted his post that 240 mL is all that comes out, not that it’s the amount he put in.
Correct well actually 246ml is what I measured which is well below the 500ml fill (even with saying put 450ml or so in it has puked out an extra 200ml over the last 3000 or so miles. Only does it when riding in 6th gear above 80mph in the summer. Has Eni in it.
Just curious, how do you know how much "pukes out"? Do you drain What's left and measure that?I have a 6 spd V7II that leaks a small amount of fluid, but I am pretty sure it is the transmission input shaft seal leaking. The excess fluid comes out a little hole in the bottom of the casing. Do you know where the fluid is coming from? Mine only leaks when the bike is being ridden. I get one drop on the floor when I park the bike, but never any more no matter how long the bike sits.
Yes the fluid is drained the filter removed, cleaned and put back in. Ot is quite obvious where it is coming from. Directly out of the input shaft. Dealer is the one who after consulting with the lords at guzzi usa said it was overfilled. Obviously they would be wrong if after leaving in for the year i get 246ml out. Again has anybody solved this problem or am I the only one who rides it over 80mph?😄
So why would a leaky input shaft cause oil to come out of the breather? Makes no sense to me.
So is it leaking from the input shaft or breather? Both? Your posts make no sense.
To me, especially the first picture looks like it is leaking out of the filler plug. Is there a missing O ring? I'm not seeing oil above the filler. I've certainly seen oil puking out of the old small block breather, and it looks nothing like this.. <shrug>

I want to know what “directly out of input shaft ” means in English, to me that means onto clutch
Quite obvious? Are there two Benebobs? One with breather question as titleI want to know what “directly out of input shaft ” means in English, to me that means onto clutchRe breathier, route it high, into catch can not silly, is only vent, sfa oil wants to escape
On my V7-II six speed if you only undid the drain plug not all the old fluid would come out.I had to remove the filler plug as well to enable it to breath and drain properly. You may be pouring the right amount in but still overfilling it.
