Yes!! I too am curious about the VHB's, on what appears to be an early 80's Tonti. Great looking bike. I would speculate that the fork/brake/wheel assembly is pinched from a Suzuki.

I'm interested in this too! Is the offset between the fork legs and the steering stem equal to the measurement on the standard guzzi forks? Does it have full steering lock? What were the trials and tribulations of the conversion?

Both bikes started as cx100’s because that was what l had that was paid for. I was careful to store all takeoffs and do nothing I could not reverse. The forks are Showa from 750 gsxr and are really terrific and come with great radial brakes. With rear Ohlins, these are great riders bikes. The fork offset is 30 mm reduced from OEM at 65mm. Look in the archives for my build synopsis.

30mm reduced offset, did you notice the slow down in steering with the increased trail?

How is it in the twisties? I would expect more stable at speed, thats exactly what the increased trail would do, but would also tend to slow the steering down

I ask as I have a set of 38mm Marzocchi ducati forks and clamps, they have roughly they same offset as yours, and have thought about putting them on one of my bikes for the better suspension, but the increased trail has made me wonder if it would make a slower turning bike (as all these era of Italians are) even slower

Remember that trail number is also affected by front end height. I raised the rear with longer shocks and lowered the front by pulling the fork tubes up through the t clamps . I settled on a bike that loves long sweepers holding its line with counterstear. The real issue is protecting the tank as the fork tubes will dent the tank with the offset at 30mm. The original fork stops will need replacing. I added the tonti front crash bars so that they stop the forks from denting the tank.
The turning circle is increased but the bike remains agile in the city.
