well, it's a dry heat
Summers in Arizona ("The Valley of the Sun", aka Phoenix), are affectionately referred to as..."The Forbidden Planet"
Well boys were not having any of those heat issues up here in the Pacific north West this year.I think maybe a few days in the 80s F is all. Ciao
I've been told no one in Arizona goes to church. They already know how hot Hell is. kk
Here in the south, mid NC where I live, the only time one can ride without getting the “swamp butt” is in the morning hours. If we do an extended over nighter we are kick stands up at 0600 and down at 1200, eat lunch and off to the hotel pool. Being miserable while riding is not fun!
I've become a wuss, a fair-weather rider, mostly limited to 50-85 deg these days. Sad, really.Rich A
Supposed to be mid-90s tomorrow, and my ride is from home in Central Virginia, US60 over to Buena Vista, then VA39 through the Goshen Pass to Goshen, then VA42 about 120 miles up through the Shenandoah Valley, then cross over on VA259 to Fulk's Run Gap, then take WV29 and US522 to Cross Junction. Some of the best riding in the country, my favorite roads, and it'll be hot for sure. I'll start out in the morning in leather, switch to mesh when it gets insupportable, and drink at least 2 quarts of water the last part of the trip. Not bad if you're prepared!Lannis
Took a short breakfast ride this morning with my hubby. It was around 95 when we started out and 100 for the ride back. For Phoenix, that's about as perfect as it gets this time of year.
