I ran across this German advertisement from Gregory Bender's site - and on examination found some interesting (to-me) details. The date of this ad would have been late 1984 or early 1985 at the earliest.... and possibly 1986 or later. I say this 'cuz I have looked closely at the T5 in the ad and note that:
i) it has a later production steel (not alloy) passenger grab bar;
ii) a post 1984 production polycarbonate flyscreen;
iii) taller (and braced) steering head frame;
iv) early production brake rotors;
v) early production Sebac rear shocks; and
vi) an early production 16" (i.e. not 18") rear wheel.
This bike is for the German market... a very important one for Guzzi.
It did NOT get the best features and released items - compared to the Italian market... and often... compared to the American market. This German mkt bike is a bit of a Parts Bin special. Lotsa excess-stock componentry used-up in producing it.
In general, and for many consumer things, America (and sometimes to a bit lesser degree - Canada) - we 'kinda are a premium mkt. We're pretty lucky that way.
Minutiae - I know. But I'm a kind'o observant individual.
