Two V7 III Stone questions

2. Are the front fenders interchangeable between generations? Like, could I buy the longer fender from a II and put it on a III without modification?

Looks like they have updated the site. You may need to poke around to seek out what you want, but I did find accessories.

Not sure on the 2nd one, but I bought my first Guzzi a V7ii stone, used. It had a custom orange color for the tank. The seller did it to match his car, told me it cost about $500 to have it done.

The V7 II and III fenders are interchangeable. I'm running a smaller II racer fender on my III Stone. I'm tempted to go for the Tenni Green cafe kit sold by Guzzi but at $2600 it's ridiculously expensive, even when on sale https://cadrecycle.com/product/v7-iii-record-fairing-kit-green/

1.  It is a matte finish.  You could rattle can a black one and add some matte clearcoat for $50.

2.  Don't know, but anything is possible if the mount points are a little different, some custom make brackets could solve your problem.

Do you really like the matte green on the Moto Guzzi Stones?  With a paint job, you get to specify the exact green and finish you like. 

I haven't noticed the fender differences ... the ii fenders are longer than the iii?  Looking at some pics, seems the rear is about the same but looks like the ii front fender does cover more of the front wheel than the iii.

Givi tail rack and Kenda tires.  Only gas tank is Green  $6,500 for 5K miles is kinda high.

Probably better to buy something close, put Cadre's complete bodywork that includes the fuel tank, mudguards and side panels painted in Alce green, the historic Moto Guzzi model.  It would be a classic look.

Then as suggested above, sell the parts from the one you bought.

agdrache -- your best option might be buying a 2019 Stone from Cadre, have them install the Alce green bodywork, and see if they give you any credit (eg, labor, shipping) for the old bodywork.  As an RE guy, I'm looking forward to seeing your final result.

I'd be tempted to look around for a secondhand tank, any colour, you should eventually be able to get one for some $200 - 400, and have it, and the the side covers vinyl-wrapped in the colour of your choice. Note than in the past, new bare metal tanks have been available from Guzzi for $500 - 600. It's seems like there's currently a blip in the pricing.

I've seen pretty much everything that's currently on Cycle Trader, the question regarding the difficulty of finding a green bike has more to do with the timing - I'm still figuring out how to afford such a purchase. I've just gotten off the phone with Progressive, going through various quote options, and I was surprised to find out that the V7 is apparently a lot more expensive to insure than another bike I've been looking at, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650....although the Guzzi's shaft drive seems like a potentially better option for a year-round primary vehicle. I'd have figured they'd be pretty similar in terms of insurance, since they're pretty similar in terms of power, despite the 100cc-ish difference in displacement.

Mostly I just like the matte olive green tank better than most of the other Stone color schemes, and since I ride year-round and in most weather, my experience with bicycles has shown that the longer the front fender, the more effective it is at keeping the bike clean - so I'd want the longer fender and then I'd also add one of those Extenda Fenda things onto it to get even more coverage

For the Insurance part, check around with other companies. I've my home and auto through Progressive, but even with the account discount,  their quote on my Guzzi was ridiciously high.  Not sure if it is an issue with their rating, or if they just really dislike Guzzi's.  Anyway, I found same coverage for less than half the price elsewhere.

Part of it definitely had to do with my coverage selections. My current bike is a Suzuki TU250X, and at my old apartment it was super cheap to insure, $260ish for the year with pretty thorough coverage. I moved a couple miles and my insurance more than doubled. I've been getting quotes based on the same coverage selections I have currently, so there are definitely ways to bring it down - when I have a chance, I'm gonna go through and see how much of that really feels necessary.

In any case, it looks like I'm gonna have to wait a bit longer before I can buy anything, because of a lack of sufficient credit history at the moment, which is taking longer than I want for it to change

Based on my history with other passion items, it's a good thing I can't afford or store more than one or maaaaaybe two at a time 






.....I might be playing with the idea of picking up a cheap older bike for some of those situations where more displacement would be useful, until I can afford what I actually want

And if a feller were to go out of his way to paint one green??  Why there’s no telling how bad a disaster he’d be inviting.

I suspect some devious bastard bean counter decided this is the way to total any bike with minor damage so the customer buys a new one.
