Actually, no, they can't.  Not only can they not "refute" them, but they're nudging the doubts toward "certainty" with the attempts at "proof" ...  :azn:

These discussions are fun, though.   On the one hand, if the subject were something different, you'd have the "I Fu'ing Love Science" crowd establishing some phenomenon as an absolute, Settled Science certainty due to the Scientifity of Science.

On the subject of boogeymen, heffalumps, and woozles, however, Science is ALWAYS a living, open book, with many things we don't know, with small cracks and holes widening up to admit entire parallel universes where any childhood nightmare can exist.

Always time for popcorn!

It's one of my closest friends sending pictures of some shit in his yard.  I texted him just to find these photos.  Just to post them here.  He went to the trouble to do it since you made a diva request.  Get outta town man.

I don't fricking care what they look like. These weren't meant to prove  a dang thang.  Just that I had a friend that thought, "shit what the hell is this?"  FIVE foot strides.  He's heard about Bigfoot since moving there.  He's got regular bears, Muleys and Mtn Linons everyday.  Not this.

Geeeziz, I am not trying prove a flippin' thing.  Just thought it would be fun.  And BTW, my buddy has no idea what the hell these tracks are.

outta curiosity, where were the tracks seen?  Please don't say "In the snow!"

I was looking at some tracks in the woods one time. I had to move when the train came along.

Exactly.  Just like the R-word that can't be mentioned.

"My r_________ is real, the people who follow a different r_______ are wrong."

Whatever floats your boat, works for me.

Oddly enough, the r_______ one believes is often more strongly influenced by where one grew up and who raised you (local culture) than by objective, measurable reality.

Paraphrasing Tip O'Neal:  "All reality is local!"

On a side note, Galileo and Copernicus are still waiting for apologies.......

Still having fun on this end........

Amen!  We are both in agreement here Dusty!

I've seen mini-documentaries on TV, where experts claim Keebler Elves bake Keebler Cookies.  I've seen the cookies in stores, so the Keebler Elves must exist.

Same for those who have seen Bigfoot tracks.......

We thought we were hearing Mrs Bigfoot in the backyard this morning , awful horrible racket , had to be a creature weighing several hundred lbs to make that much noise . Turns out it was our 22 lb Tri-Terrier of Doom trying to tear down the barricade I had built across the entry port under the house . He was mad , really mad , not kidding about it . Now he is hiding under my truck sulking . Maybe he had spotted a bigfoot baby going under the house , he does love him some babies

Terriers are highly instinctive killing machines.  Bigfoot, Littlefoot, snakes, whatever is fair game.

Now yer coming around, aren't you?  Couple more sightings and you'll be on board.

While the existence of Saquatch/Yeti/Bigfoot/etc has never been proven, many hirsute people and wildmen have been well documented. The bigfoot is just a hairy wildman sensationalized.
If I had a choice of which to confront on a dark night in the woods, I would definitely choose the shy Bigfoot over a feral human with murderous intent.

Keebler Elves  - cookies are not great. Even girl scout cookies aren't what they used to be.

No body used butter, sugar, and eggs anymore. It's all made with oils, corn syrup, and Humectants.

Pepperidge Farms cookies are still okay.

Dusty,  you won't be catching Bigfoot with Keebler cookies. You'll have to up your game.

One of our cats bring all of her kills into the house.  Thankfully, she hasn't dragged in one of those...... yet!

Don’t laugh, if Lucian said it, it’s probably  true. Now I’m LMAO. Aint this forum entertaining 🤔

Reminds me of a tale I heard of a meeting between local farmers and a young representative of a Federal wildlife management department.  The wolves were re-introduced into the area years ago by this department and were now killing a lot sheep and goats.

The person from the wildlife department laid out a plan to hunt, tranquilize, and sterilize the male wolves.  After about 30 minutes of presentation and discussion, an older farmer in the back raised his hand, stood up, and said "Son, I don't think you understand the problem.  "The wolves ain't screwing our sheep, they're eating them!"

Supposedly everyone was laughing so hard, the meeting could not be resumed!

Your post assumes Ncdan is still alive and able to respond.  Based on the highly contented look on the cat's face, Ncdan may very well be dead and part of his corpse consumed.

Much easier for a cat to drag part of a human corpse in to the house, than a whole human corpse.....

I don't know if there is a Bigfoot or not...but I was always fascinated by the Patterson video from 1967 in northern California.

You now I've just about trained the wild Blue Jays in my yard.  I throw out peanuts and they come and eat them.  I get them to come here when I want.

Oh wait!  I hear a Jay, I have go out and feed it.

I've trained them well.
