BB Lick must be ~ 700 miles from Lizard Lick, NC, iirc. I used to fly in/out of Lexington, KY, Charleston WV and Raleigh, NC. A rental Mustang nearly got me arrested one night, in Charleston. I would swear the cops used local boys with fast cars as bait.  R3~

Sugar Tit, KY is only a few miles north of Big Bone Lick and Beaver Lick. I often pass through/by all three on one ride.

Just finished reading the "Frontiersman" by Allan Eckert...in there he mentions some licks, which were named because of some salt deposits which animals and natives came for, which these might be too?  But, I don't know about that Sugar thing, although some thoughts have crossed my mind.

Once off of the interstate, all of the roads are good.  In fact, I would say about 85% of the state roads are good to excellent for us 2 wheel fans.  Also, much history and very old grave yards.  I just got off the bike having stopped and walked around Flagg Spring Baptist Church, built in 1830 and still standing.  Graves of Confederate soldiers and people who lived through the Civil War.  All fascinating to me.  Many of those people in that graveyard never saw a car, airplane or telephone.
