Sweet pickles!?!  I wouldn't be able to resist, assuming all the aforementioned indicators of safety were observed.  Once a nibble showed no ill effects, they'd be mine!

I found an unopened jar of sweet gherkins in my cupboard.  I knew they'd been there a while, so I checked the "Best by" date.

"Sept 28"  So far, so good.

They drink that in Turkey and other countries.  My dad would drink left over kim chee juice with extra chili peppers in it.

We save pickle juice and then use it as marinade (with or without buttermilk) or wash for chicken before frying.  In fact, that's what I used this morning when making chicken biscuits for breakfast for my daughter and me.  I like using the juice better than I like eating the pickles.

Some around here drink it.  Seems like it's usually consumed around high school football practices when it's hot.  Dad used to talk up & drink Switzle (old Yankee farmer Apple vinegar-based "thirst quencher") and occasionally similar pickle juice recipes but they didn't & don't interest me much.

  If you can find an unopened "C" ration from WWII as a main course you' ll be all set. The Lucky Strikes might be a little harsh, but they'll complement the pickles
