One "downside" of retirement is that you no longer "look forward" to time off for a holiday, because EVERY day is a holiday.   (That's why the quotation marks around "downside"!)

Matter of fact, we avoid taking vacations and going where other people go on weekends and holidays, and stay home and invite the family over for a cookout or something.   We don't have to be on the road with everybody else, sit "cheek to cheek" with anyone (!!!), there's everything to be said for it.

We put up the flag and hang the bunting on Memorial Day and take it down after Labor Day, then up one more time for the "Marine Corps Birthday" and Veterans Day for 2 days in November ....

I’m gonna do my Eeore imitation “ must be nice to have a holiday weekend off” lol! It’s okay, all these travelers need fuel for their trips. Job security is nice!

Seriously though, please show proper decorum with our flag. Remember, don’t let it get rained on unless it’s an all weather type. Take it down at sunset and put it out at sunrise. And please don’t fly a tattered, faded flag.

And when your flags DO get faded and tattered, your local American Legion post has a flag disposal box where you can put it for proper disposal by the Legion.

Well....???? Where are the long photos?    Time to get scanning!

The photo is about 3ft. long.  Sort of like a 8x10 four times long and continuous.  One photo.  The camera used is a rotating one that scans left to right.  Useful for large groups or landscape.  My pix are framed.  Maybe someone else has them scanned in. 

The last National at New Cumberland, I'm in the bottom left and bottom right right of the photo holding a portrait of Bucky. '

Lynn Crowley is up front with restored V7 Sports.  He trucked in one of every color.     He was looking for another one to restore to riding condition only.  Seems with all the work he never rode one.  His bikes looked factory fresh down to the bolts and battery.     Totally oem.

The holiday of Labor Day is certainly interesting.  As a history buff, I tend to think of Labor Day in the context of Labor history.  In fact, I think of Labor Day as Blair Mountain Day.  This year was the 99th anniversary.
